Job description
**Position Overview:**
A Private Household Manager/Chef is needed to oversee the daily operations of an American family’s private home for two individuals. This role is full-time, with a 40-hour work week from 9 AM to 5 PM, including an hour lunch break in the middle of the day. The position involves managing household tasks, providing executive assistance, and preparing meals, focusing on the family’s preferences for a Mediterranean diet and lifestyle. Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional similar role as a HM or Chef.
– Serve as a companion to the gentleman of the house, participating in leisure activities like golf, shopping, and attending appointments.
– Provide transport and support for family errands and appointments.
– Ensure the comfort and well-being of family members, promptly addressing their needs.
– Assist with the care of the family’s two senior dogs, including feeding, walking, and changing their water.
– Coordinate household maintenance, including repairs and servicing of appliances and utilities.
– Maintain the home’s cleanliness and organization, ensuring it aligns with the family’s standards (a cleaning service handles heavier tasks 1X a week, including changing bed sheets).
– Organize and manage scheduling and logistics for family events and appointments.
– Act as the main point of contact for external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
– Handle household laundry twice a week (excluding sheets), including washing, drying, ironing (if needing), and organizing clothes and linens. Most items get send to dry-cleaning.
– Maintain organized closets and storage areas.
– Plan weekly menus with the family, focusing on a Mediterranean diet rich in protein and vegetables (lunch for the gentleman daily and dinner 3X a week.)
– Shop for groceries, ensuring fresh, high-quality ingredients.
– Maintain records, including invoices, expenses, and important contacts.
– Support family members’ professional needs within the work week, including scheduling and managing correspondence.
**Qualifications:**
– Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Fluency in English and proficiency with technology.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with family members and external parties.
– Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and priorities.
– Enjoy working in a small family setting with two adults and two senior dogs.
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
– Willingness to undergo a background and reference check.
**Compensation and Benefits:**
– Use of a car is provided on-site.
