Weekend Caregiver Needed: Jersey City with one 3-year-old

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced weekend caregiver to provide attentive care for a 3-year-old, focusing on creating a nurturing and educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childhood development and will support the child’s learning through activities such as music, art, and physical exercise. This role includes meal preparation (snacks and breakfast, lunch and dinner), bedtime routine, and maintaining a safe, fun space for the child.

 

Position Details:

– Hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 10hr or 12hrs hours each day (20/24 hours per weekend your choice)

– Location: Jersey City

– Compensation: $30/ph+, based on experience  (please provide compensation requirements)

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide nurturing and attentive care, always ensuring the child’s well-being

– Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as music, arts, crafts, and physical play to support development

– Prepare healthy meals and snacks, and handle the child’s evening routine, including dinner and bedtime

– Monitor and track developmental milestones, supporting physical, social, and emotional growth

– Keep the child’s play area organized and clean

– Communicate updates with the parents regularly and work well with other household staff

– Be flexible with schedules and willing to assist with occasional additional coverage if required during the week for extra compensation

 

Qualifications:

– 3+ years of professional experience working with toddlers

– Knowledge of childhood milestones, potty training, and child nutrition

– Ability to manage child-related tasks (e.g., child laundry, keeping play areas tidy)

– Fluency in Mandarin is a plus but not required

– Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude
