Household Manager Wanted for a Fun and Down-to-Earth Family in Orlando, FL

Our client in Orlando, FL, is seeking a dedicated Household Manager to join their team. This dynamic role is integral to maintaining their primary residence and managing secondary properties in St. Augustine, FL, and Stockton, NJ.

The ideal candidate will be proactively engaged in overseeing financial management, including tracking expenses, managing budgets, and handling vendor contracts and payments. Responsibility for creating and updating household manuals, shopping for household items, running errands, and maintaining inventories will also be key components of this role.

In addition, the perfect candidate will be responsible for preparing secondary residences for the season, coordinating with local service providers, and ensuring that all properties are maintained in top condition. Scheduling and supervising renovations, home improvement projects, and regular maintenance tasks, including vehicle maintenance and detailing, will be essential duties.

Effective staff management will be a critical aspect of the role, requiring the Household Manager to recruit, supervise, and resolve any issues with household staff and contract workers. The role also involves managing mail, deliveries, returns, and household documentation, as well as organizing and overseeing family events, including dinners, birthday parties, and gatherings.

There is large involvement in administrative tasks, such as managing family travel, handling personal appointments, and coordinating with financial advisors and other professionals. Additionally, the role includes supporting the family’s philanthropic efforts by organizing events and tracking charitable contributions.

While not crucial, travel support is a nice-to-have part of the position. The candidate may occasionally be required to travel with the family, providing assistance with packing, itinerary planning, and adapting to changing needs. Other responsibilities include aiding with children’s activities, arranging babysitting services, assisting with meal planning and preparation, tracking chores and allowances, and appreciation and priority for individuals who have availability during emergencies if such need arises.

Occasional pet care is also required, so a love for animals is essential. The family has a friendly 100-pound Labrador retriever and two cats.

Skills and Requirements:

– Experience: 5+ years in household management or a similar role. A higher education degree is a major plus.
– Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of multitasking.
– Independence: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems effectively.
– Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with full English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
– Tech Savvy: Ability to learn new programs, research, and proficiency in Windows and Mac, as well as Microsoft Suite, and other common computer programs.
– Driving: Clean driving record, valid license, and access to your own vehicle.
– Employment Eligibility: Must have the legal ability to be employed in the USA (passport or green card holder with valid SS card).
– Flexibility: Willingness to travel with or without the family and adapt to various needs.
– Pet Care: Must have a love for animals and be comfortable with occasional pet care responsibilities.

Compensation:

– Salary: Competitive, in the range of $85,000 to $100,000 plus benefits, based on experience, please note your requirements for compensation and benefits when applying for position.
