Professional Nanny Needed: Tribeca Pickup & Jersey City Weekday Care
We are seeking an experienced and caring professional nanny to provide attentive care for a wonderful client of the HMN for their 3-year-old child, focusing on creating a nurturing and educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childhood development and will be able to support the child’s learning through activities such as music, art, and physical education. This role also includes managing the child’s bedtime routine, meal preparation (snacks and dinner), and occasional evening coverage as needed.
Position Details:
– Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM (with flexibility for additional evening hours when needed)
– Locations: Pickup in Tribeca, care in Jersey City
– Compensation: $30/ph+, based on experience (please provide compensation requirements)

Key Responsibilities:
– Pick up from school in Tribeca and safely transport the child from Tribeca to Jersey City via ferry or PATH.
– Provide nurturing and attentive care, always ensuring the child’s well-being
– Provide a safe and secure environment, always supervising the child and taking appropriate precautions to prevent accidents.
-Plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate activities such as reading, arts and crafts, music, physical exercise, and educational play to promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
-Prepare healthy meals and snacks, ensure the child receives proper nutrition, and accommodate any dietary needs or restrictions.
-Help the child with daily routines such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene, supporting their independence as they grow.
-Ensure consistent and calming naptime and bedtime routines, including story time, bath time, and sleep preparation, to foster healthy sleep habits.
-Track and support the child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, identifying any milestones or areas that need special attention.
-Keep the child’s play areas, toys, and personal belongings tidy, ensuring a clean and organized environment that promotes safe and enjoyable play.
-Provide regular updates to parents regarding the child’s day, progress, behavior, and any concerns, maintaining open and transparent communication.
-Help the child develop social skills, manners, and positive behavior through guidance, discipline, and role modeling in a nurturing way.
-Be adaptable to the family’s needs, including adjusting to schedule changes, handling unexpected situations, and occasionally working additional hours when necessary.
Qualifications:
– Professional experience caring for toddlers (minimum 3 years), with knowledge of childhood development, potty training, and child nutrition
– Ability to manage child-related tasks such as laundry and maintaining a tidy play environment
– Comfortable with public transportation, specifically navigating both the ferry and the PATH from Tribeca to Jersey City for preschool drop-off.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with household staff and communicate effectively with parent
– Fluency in Mandarin is a plus, but not required
– Willingness to provide occasional additional coverage during weekends and flexible availability in the evenings
– Longevity in Previous Roles a must!
